Acrylic & Gel-X Nail Extensions
Acrylic and Gel-X extensions shaped to the length you want, with fills and removal that keeps your natural nail intact.

Extensions are the answer when your own nails will not get to the length or shape you want — either because they break first, or because you need them now and not in four months.
We work in two systems. Acrylic is the durable one: sculpted, strong, and the right choice if you are hard on your hands. Gel-X is a soft gel tip bonded to the nail, lighter and thinner, and it removes by soaking rather than filing.
Length and shape are your call — square, almond, coffin, whatever you bring in a photo. What we will tell you honestly is when a length is going to fight your job or your hands.

Options
Two systems, different trade-offs
Acrylic full set
Sculpted with liquid and powder over a tip or a form. The most durable option and the one to pick if you type all day, work with your hands, or have broken extensions before.
Gel-X extensions
A pre-shaped soft gel tip bonded to the whole nail and cured. Lighter and thinner than acrylic, closer to the feel of your own nail, and it soaks off rather than being filed down.
Fills and rebalance
Every two to three weeks the gap at the base gets filled and the apex rebalanced. Keeping to that rhythm is what stops lifting and keeps a set going for months.
Shape change
Square, squoval, almond, coffin or stiletto. Shape can be changed at a fill without starting the set again, within what the current length allows.
Safe removal
Gel-X soaks off. Acrylic is filed down carefully and soaked, never pried. Either way it is a booked service, not something to do at home with a credit card.
Why clients book extensions with us
Both systems in one salon
You are not being sold whichever one we happen to stock. We carry acrylic and Gel-X and will tell you which suits your hands and your week.
Minimal filing of the natural nail
Adhesion comes from proper prep, not from filing your nail plate thin. That is the single biggest factor in how your nails look when you eventually take a break.
Any shape you bring us
Bring a screenshot. Our artists have yet to turn down a shape, and if a length is going to be impractical we will say so before we start, not after.
Making it last
How to look after it once you leave.
- 01
The first 48 hours matter most
Adhesion keeps setting after you leave. Avoid very hot water, long baths and heavy scrubbing for the first two days and the set will last noticeably longer.
- 02
Keep to the fill schedule
Every two to three weeks. Past that, the grown-out base gives every knock a lever, and lifting turns into a break.
- 03
A lifted corner is a salon visit, not a home fix
Water gets under a lifted edge, and that is how you end up with a problem underneath. Come in and we will reseal it.
- 04
Oil the cuticles, even with extensions
Especially with extensions. The flexible skin around a rigid nail is where lifting starts.
Questions
About extensions, specifically.
Something not covered here? Call 908-245-6300 — someone picks up during salon hours.
What is the difference between acrylic and Gel-X?
Acrylic is sculpted from liquid and powder and is the more durable of the two. Gel-X is a pre-shaped soft gel tip bonded to the nail — lighter, thinner, closer to the feel of your own nail, and it soaks off instead of being filed down.
How often do I need a fill?
Every two to three weeks. Leaving it longer is the main reason sets lift or break, because the grown-out base turns every knock into leverage against the nail.
Will extensions ruin my natural nails?
Not if the prep is minimal and the removal is done properly. Damage comes from filing the nail plate thin to force adhesion, and from prying sets off. Both are avoidable.
How long can I go before taking them off?
A set can be maintained indefinitely with regular fills. Many clients keep one going for months. If you want a break, book a removal rather than letting it grow out and snag.
Can I bring a photo of the shape I want?
Please do. It is far more useful than a description, and it is how most of our best sets start.
